This is an appreciation-post for how great Stranger Things Posters are.
1. The Vanishing of Will Byers
Can’t beat the original. Very eerie, the lights on the bike’s are so cool and the fog really helps the overall badass nature of this poster.
2. Stepping Back Into The 1980s
This poster is the most popular, it was created by Kyle Lambert, obviously drawing inspiration from Drew Struzan’s iconic movie posters from the 1980s, which makes this stylistic choice perfect for a show lovingly placed into the 1980s.
3. Will Byers. Only survivor of The Upside Down
This is a poster I came across recently that is an obvious nod to Alien, which is one of my favorite scifi-movie franchises and if Stranger Things can continue to nestle into that creepy 1980s niche, I will continue to love it. Although I think it’s likely that Season 2 will feel a little more like Ghostbusters than Alien, but it will probably feel like a mix of both.
4. The Stormy Skyline
It’s hard not to say this is the coolest Stranger Things poster (because it probably is). It’s very unique and memorable, not to mention intriguing, if this were a movie poster and you walked by this in a movie theater, you’re gonna stop and look, mission accomplished!
5. A Close Encounter?
This is so cool! It’s an obvious reference to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but that’s not a bad thing. I love the long shadows behind Will’s legs. I saw this poster when it was first released, but for some reason I’m only just now noticing the string of drawings on the wall that will scattered everywhere, I don’t know if I saw an early version or what, but I can see them now, haha.
6. Something Happened To My Pumpkins!
Such a perfectly creepy poster! This might be my favorite due to the creepy factor alone. In my Stranger Things Season 2 Predictions Video (Volume 2), I talked a lot about how I believe the rotten pumpkins shown in the season 2 trailers (and on this poster) were killed by the black death mist that was chasing Will down the hallway, and that mist now appears to be the actual building blocks of the Thessalhydra itself. The vibe of this poster is so perfect and I think there’s a good chance that I’m going to enjoy Season 2 more than Season 1, especially if they can really capture that nostalgic Halloween feel, and creepy pumpkins in foggy fields is a great place to start.
The latest poster for Stranger Things Season 2! This is so cool. It reminds me of an old Goosebumps book cover. I really like how several different moods and tones are captured in this poster as you scroll down it. This poster is the ultimate eye candy. I hope we get quite a few creepy scenes in the pumpkin patch in Season 2, it’s so perfectly creepy, and it fits the Halloween season so well.
What do you think of these posters? Which poster do you like the most?
